“That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” (Japanese Name: Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken, Synonyms: Tensura is a Japanese light novel series written by Fuse, and illustrated by Mitz Vah. It was first released online in 2013 on the novel publishing website Shousetsuka ni Narou (Let’s Become a Novelist). It was later acquired by Micro Magazine in 2014 and they published the first light novel volume. As of October 2023, this Light Novel has a total of 21 volumes.
It later received a manga adaptation illustrated by Kawakami Taiki which was published by Kodansha. They also published 5 spin-off manga series. This manga later received an anime adaptation by eight-bit, which aired in October 2018. This anime later got a second season which was released in January 2021. Its second spin-off manga also got an anime adaptation which was released in April 2021. It also received an anime film which was released in November 2022. The third season of this anime is set to premiere on 5 April 2024.
Yen Press licensed this Light Novel in English and describes its plot as:
“Lonely thirty-seven-year-old Satoru Mikami is stuck in a dead-end job, unhappy with his mundane life, but after dying at the hands of a robber, he awakens to a fresh start in a fantasy realm…as a slime monster!
