It’s not every day that some of the biggest names in the manga industry gather around the same table. That’s exactly what happened this week, as One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda hosted a private dinner attended by several legendary manga creators, creating a moment that quickly went viral among fans.
The gathering was revealed by Masanori Morita, the creator of Rokudenashi Blues and ROOKIES, who shared a special illustration on X after the dinner, featuring everyone who attended the event.
A Dream Gathering of Manga Legends
According to Morita, the dinner had been in the works for nearly a year before finally taking place.
He also revealed that Eiichiro Oda personally treated everyone to dinner and couldn’t stop praising the food.
“Yesterday, Oda-cchi treated me to a dreamlike dinner; something we’d been planning for about a year! Everything we ate was completely new to me, and with my limited vocabulary, I’m frustrated that I can’t properly describe how it all tasted…! All I can say is that every single dish was absolutely incredible! Thank you so much!!”
Along with the message, Morita shared an illustration showing the creators walking together after leaving the restaurant.
Legendary Mangaka Attended the Dinner
The illustration featured an incredible lineup of manga creators, including:
- Eiichiro Oda — One Piece
- Masashi Kishimoto — Naruto
- Hiroyuki Takei — Shaman King
- Takehiko Inoue — Slam Dunk
- Masakazu Katsura — I”s and Video Girl Ai
- Riichiro Inagaki — Writer of Dr. STONE and Eyeshield 21

Seeing so many influential creators together in one place immediately caught the attention of manga fans across Japan and around the world.

Fans React to the Historic Gathering
The illustration quickly spread across social media, with many fans calling it one of the greatest gatherings of manga creators ever shared publicly.
Many joked that the dinner looked like a meeting of the “Shonen Jump Hall of Fame,” while others imagined the kinds of conversations that must have taken place between the creators behind some of the most successful manga series of all time.
Although none of the attendees revealed what they discussed during the evening, fans have been speculating that the gathering was likely filled with stories from their careers, behind-the-scenes experiences, and casual conversations between friends who have shaped the manga industry for decades.
Following Morita’s post, Masakazu Katsura also commented on X, saying the dinner was wonderful and praising the food. Morita replied that he was happy to see Katsura doing well, to which Katsura simply responded with, “Thank you ❤️.”
While no major announcements came out of the gathering, seeing creators responsible for series like One Piece, Naruto, Slam Dunk, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, Shaman King, and Dr. STONE together in one place made the dinner a memorable moment for manga fans worldwide.
