The official X account of the popular anime series “Bocchi The Rock!” revealed that this anime is getting a 2nd season. The announcement trailer was released by the official YouTube channel of Aniplex and the official X account of this anime released its announcement visual:

Some minor cast changes have been made for season 2 of this anime. A new character designer for this anime, Keito Oda, draws this announcement key visual. Keito Oda and Kerorira will handle character designs for season 2.

This anime has also got a new director. Season 2 of Bocchi The Rock! will be directed by Yusuke Yamamoto. Just like in season 1, Erika Yoshida will handle the scripts for the second season. Animation Studio Cloverworks is back for animating the second season of this anime.

About Bocchi The Rock!

Bocchi The Rock! is a Japanese 4-Koma(Meaning: 4-Panel, Synonyms: Yonkoma) manga series written and illustrated by Aki Hamazi. This manga was serialized in December 2017 in Houbunsha‘s Seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara Max and is still ongoing. As of October 2024, this manga has a total of 7 Volumes. This manga has also received a spin-off manga series in July 2023 titled, “Bocchi the Rock! Side Story: Kikuri Hiroi’s Heavy-Drinking Diary“.

This manga later received an anime adaptation by Cloverworks which was released in October 2022. It is also revealed that this anime is receiving a second season!

Yen Press has licensed this manga for English publication and explains its plot as:

Hitori Gotoh just wants to be popular, but the thought of interacting with her classmates makes her fall to pieces. Her solution-become a rock legend so cool that people approach her instead! However, while spending all of middle school in her closet shredding on the guitar may have earned her anonymous internet fame, it did nothing for her social skills. Now a high schooler, Hitori’s feeling ready to shrivel up and die-when she gets a sudden request to fill in for a band!
