CALL OF THE NIGHT SEASON 2 EPISODE 1 REVIEW

Call of the night season 2 episode 1 review

Call of the Night Season 2 is here with its 1st episode! Compared to the previous season, there are no new new things coming into sight yet. But still throughout the whole episode, a funny tone is maintained all along. It was like going through the same quietness and that peaceful vibe with some essence of comedy. The voice cast is also the same with no change from the first season. The anime’s animation, music and sfx are also improved from the first season with a smoother look.

So let’s get to the intro. In the first scene, our main girl, Nazuna, is standing in her usual position and giving a cool look and as always the details are neat. Following up was the opening, which is also epic and cool befitting the artstyle. And about the song “Mirage” Another crazy piece by Creepy Nuts, the opening is so attractive. It might be the next “otonoke” of this year.

The vibe and the fast beats get totally mixed with the aroma of the anime. In the opening, Nazuna next to our detective girl, Kyouko can be seen  matching the vibe of the music. And also following up Kou and other Vampires along with them.

The opening song anticipates the upgrade in animation. where in the end of opening, we can see Nazuna and the detective girl fighting leaving the jaws wide open.

The episode starts with Kou and Nazuna playing games as always while the other two vampires, Niko and Hatsuko were asking Nazuna to give kou to them for a favour in their own way, and the smooth transitions in these conversations really brings up the mood. And we are also seeing a protective side of Nazuna towards Kou in this season after the half confession in the first season.

In the next scene, we see a drinking party of the vampires and our kou who is being used as a story teller for them to set their mood, they asks him about his teenage love as for kou, in order to become a vampire, he has to fall for Nazuna so he can inherit her blood. But our boy is pretty flushed as he has never been in love before. And the innocent and rapid reactions of Kou with bold words are quite cute and funny in this scene. They also assure him to help him anyway possible.

In this episode, we can also see Nazuna’s tsundere personality from the very first, as when Hatsuka takes her to get a dress and to give her some advice of love, she bursts in embarrassment which really makes her look precious and cute, she even overdrinks to avoid her questions and falls asleep.

We also get to see Kou carrying Nazuna on his back, both are full red out of blushing. Let me give you some hints, you are going to see some pretty good stuff in this season, telling from my manga experience. So Good luck with that

Then we see Nazuna and Kou sitting in a train going to Tokyo. The most appealing thing in this episode is the transition of Nazuna from being cool and badass to a pure hearted tsundere which really captures the heart of people.

In which we get to see Kou being blunt towards Nazuna, about her intention of roaming on Tokyo streets. According to him,“ why would someone be happy or excited on a journey of some minutes?”

Well from an introvert’s perspective, it’s to a point undeniable. It also includes me personally, as I would like to spend my time doing something I love instead of going out a couple of times or somewhere near wasting my energy, it depends on people.

For that Nazuna defends by saying that spending time with someone whether it is walking with them, strolling with them or eating them makes ordinary things exciting. Well we also agree with this because when you share your intentions and desire with others, and when you do things together it feels much better.

This scene shows Nazuna’s pure personality as a simple girl wanting to share her desires with Kou and wanting him to know more things about her. Then some more beautiful cute scenes between them.

At the end of the episode, we see them visiting a zoo as Kou wanted to see the zoo at night

But without animals. Next , they are talking to each other while facing the brightful city in front of them. Where it looked like they were confessing, in my eyes though..

Like when kou said to Nazuna,”i like my home place as there i met you for the first time”

When Nazuna asks him about his earlier statements, whether he likes his home place or dislikes Tokyo. Those words really seemed like a confession to me in a passive way from Kou’s personality. In return, Nazuna also replies with the same words creating a romantic environment around them.

And with that, the episode ends here.

In conclusion, it was a peaceful episode full of romantic and cute scenes. No new characters were introduced, more like a filler episode vibe but informing the current situation of the relationship of our cute young couple. As for the next episodes, fans are holding their breaths to see what happens in the future. But of course, if you’re going for a stress relieving anime this summer, you gotta watch this, as I can see something crazy is gonna cook until the end of the season.
