Night City is calling once again. A new look at Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 has surfaced from Annecy, and while it doesn’t reveal much, it has already given fans something to obsess over. The visual, shared by an X user, appears to show a young blonde character holding a camcorder, instantly sparking theories about who they are and what role they’ll play in the upcoming anime.

Of course, there’s one small problem: nobody actually knows who this character is yet.
CD Projekt RED and Studio Trigger have remained extremely secretive about Season 2, only confirming that the sequel will tell a completely new standalone story after the completion of David Martinez’s journey. That means the mysterious figure seen in the teaser could very well be our next guide through the chaos of Night City.
The camcorder has also caught fans’ attention. In a world filled with cyberware, megacorporations, and violence around every corner, choosing to highlight a camera feels oddly specific. Some fans believe the new protagonist could be documenting life in Night City, while others think it’s simply a visual detail with no deeper meaning.
For now, it’s all speculation. What we do know is that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 is being developed by CD Projekt RED and Studio Trigger, with Netflix once again attached to the project. The new season will introduce fresh characters, a new story, and another trip into one of anime’s most brutal sci-fi settings.
After the emotional wreckage left behind by Season 1, fans are understandably curious about whose story Night City plans to destroy next.
And judging by the reaction online, the theories have only just begun.
