Anime! Anime! held its annual [Anime! Anime! General Election], conducting a reader survey about voice actors who brought characters to life. Readers voted for the “most active voice actor” who left the strongest impression throughout the year, either by voicing main characters, appearing in popular works, or performing in stage plays and reading plays. They also collected votes for the “most recommended voice actor,” someone fans became enthusiastic about or personally wanted to recommend this year. Voting was conducted separately for male and female voice actors.
This year’s survey was conducted from November 19 to December 12, gathering responses from 3,170 participants. The gender distribution of respondents was approximately 25% male, 65% female, and 10% who did not specify. Age-wise, about 35% were under 19, 25% were in their 20s, and 15% were in their 30s.
Top 20 Most Active Female Voice Actor of the Year 2024
First Place: Kana Hanazawa
Leading the rankings is Kana Hanazawa, with a support rate of 16%. Known for her exceptional performances, she captured audiences with roles in numerous 2024 anime titles, including Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Arc, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hashira Training Arc, Hananoi-kun and the Kuroi Neko, The Fable, and more. Her work extended beyond anime, with re-broadcasts of Cells at Work! on NHK E-Tele and voicing an AI in the TV drama ACMA*:GAME*.
Second Place: Reina Ueda
Reina Ueda gained recognition for her emotional performance as Mayu Nekoyashiki in Wonderful Precure! and diverse roles in MASHLE and Ao no Hako. Her dual role in Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion showcased her skill in nuanced character portrayals. Ueda also ventured into new territories, including a reading play debut and voice work in games.
Third Place: Aoi Yuuki
Aoi Yuuki wowed audiences with her adaptability, taking on challenging roles in Nigejou no Wakakimi, Sasaki and Pee-chan, and My Wife is a High School Girl. Her voice in Re:Zero and Neko no Yoru ni Kyou mo Neko to Issho demonstrated her exceptional range. Fans look forward to her upcoming leading roles in 2025.
