The next chapter of The Rising of the Shield Hero is officially on the way. The upcoming Season 5 of The Rising of the Shield Hero has released a brand-new key visual and promotional video, giving fans their first proper look at Naofumi’s next adventure. It was also confirmed that the anime will premiere in 2027.
The newly released trailer teases the challenges awaiting Naofumi Iwatani and his companions as the story continues following the events of Season 4:
Kinema Citrus returns to animate the series, with several returning staff members once again working on the production.

About The Rising of the Shield Hero
The Rising of the Shield Hero (Japanese Name: Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari) is a Japanese fantasy light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi and illustrated by Seira Minami. The series began as a web novel before being published as a light novel by Media Factory under its MF Books imprint.
The story follows Naofumi Iwatani, an ordinary college student who is summoned to another world as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes. Unlike the other heroes who wield offensive weapons, Naofumi receives only a shield and is soon betrayed and falsely accused, forcing him to survive on his own. As he grows stronger alongside his companions, he sets out to protect the world while overcoming the prejudice surrounding him.
The anime adaptation produced by Kinema Citrus premiered in 2019, followed by Season 2 in 2022, Season 3 in 2023, and Season 4 in 2026. Season 5 is scheduled to premiere in 2027.
