It is officially announced that “Boukyaku Battery” (English Name: Oblivion Battery) based on the original story by Mikawa Eco is getting a second season. Season 1 of this anime was released in April 2024 and renewed for Season 2. The official YouTube Channel of KADOKAWAanime released the announcement trailer for this second season:
It is also revealed that all voice-acting casts from season 1 will return for the second season. Like season 1, Studio Mappa will animate this second season of Oblivion Battery. In Season 1, The Opening Theme song “Lilac” was performed by Mrs. GREEN APPLE, and the Ending Theme song “Wasurena Uta” was performed by Macaroni Empitsu.
ABOUT Oblivion BATTERY
Oblivion Battery (Japanese Name: Boukyaku Battery) is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Mikawa Eco. It was serialized in April 2018 in Shueisha’s online manga app Shonen Jump+. As of September 2024, there is a total of 19 Volumes of this manga.
This manga later received an ONA (Original Net Animation) by Studio MAPPA which was produced as part of the Jump Special Anime Festa 2020 online event on October 2020. Later this manga got an anime adaptation, also by Studio MAPPA which was released in April 2024. The second season of this anime adaptation is officially announced!

“Boukyaku Battery is a story about a famous baseball battery consisting of the genius pitcher Kiyomine Haruka and skilled catcher Kaname Kei who was also known as the “General.” During their senior league days, they were talented enough to not only win, but also crush the hopes and dreams of many junior high school players that they played against. However, Kaname lost his memory and the two entered Kotesashi High School, a no-name public high school. In the same school, they meet several talented players who had quitted baseball after playing against them in junior high. This is a story of their coming together in a newly established baseball club, to play baseball again.“
