On 24 January 2024, Toei and Amazon announced that the popular manga “Oshi No Ko” by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari is getting a Live-Action film and drama series adaptation! The key visual featuring actors and the release format is also released.

Regarding the live-action adaptation of Oshi no Ko,
Oshi no Ko is a work that makes various references to the entertainment world.
It also touches on the live-action adaptation of the manga.
I am not saying only good things. It also says critical things.
So, I thought that maybe Oshi no Ko would never be made into a live-action movie.
But this time, when they said they were going to do a live-action version, I thought, “Well, I’ll do it”
I asked the cast and the production team, “Are you sure about this?”
But I felt like asking, “Are you sure you are okay with this?”
I am endlessly grateful to everyone who accepted the project.What is the feeling behind creating a work called Oshi no Ko, which is set in the entertainment world? Not from the perspective of a manga artist, but from the real world of entertainment, and what will be the result? I’m very interested in that.

Oshi no Ko is a Japanese Manga written by Aka Akasaka and Illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. They launched the manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine in April 2020. Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service is releasing the manga in English digitally.
This manga received an anime adaptation in April 2024 produced by Doga Kobo. Season 2 of this anime series is also announced. The live action film and drama is also announced.
Yen Press licensed this manga in English and explains the plot as:
“Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense!
