CD PROJEKT RED and Studio TRIGGER have unveiled a brand-new key visual for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, while also confirming that the highly anticipated anime will premiere exclusively on Netflix in Fall 2026.
The newly released visual introduces the main cast of the upcoming standalone story, offering fans their best look yet at the new crew that will take viewers back into the brutal streets of Night City.

The illustration was specially drawn by Ichigo Kanno, who serves as the Character Designer and Chief Animation Director for the anime.
Unlike the first Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which followed David Martinez’s story, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will feature an entirely original cast and a brand-new standalone story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
Over the past few days, the official social media accounts have gradually introduced the four central characters appearing in the new visual.
The newly revealed protagonists include:
- Weak Kingsley — Once known as “King,” a legendary Edgerunner who now lives in the shadow of his former reputation.
- D — A skilled Netrunner from the Snake Nation seeking revenge against those responsible for wiping out his clan.
- Roman Carax — A young cinephile obsessed with documenting real stories in a city where braindances have replaced traditional cinema.
- Talia Yang — A woman raised among Night City’s corporate elite whose true passion lies in chrome, violence, and the Edgerunner lifestyle.
The official description of the series reads:
“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 presents a new standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077—a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?“
The sequel is directed by Kai Ikarashi, who previously worked as an animation director on Little Witch Academia. Series composition is handled by Masahiko Otsuka, while Ichigo Kanno is responsible for the character designs.
The project once again brings together CD PROJEKT RED and Studio TRIGGER, with Bartosz Sztybor, the Hugo Award-winning writer behind the original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, returning as one of the key creative minds behind the new series.
The first Cyberpunk: Edgerunners premiered in 2022 and became a global success, earning widespread praise from both anime fans and gamers. The series went on to win Anime of the Year at the 2023 Crunchyroll Anime Awards and helped reignite interest in Cyberpunk 2077.
With a brand-new cast, a fresh revenge-driven story, and another trip into the dangerous world of Night City, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s biggest anime releases of Fall 2026.
More information, including additional cast members, theme songs, and a full trailer, is expected to be revealed in the coming months. Bookmark Otaku Mantra for more updates.
