The additional castings announced for this season 2:

Yo Hiori by Eiji Mikami
Nijiro Nanase by Kakeru Hatano

The comments are also released by these newly joined Voice Actors:

When I first came across this work, it had a strong impact on me as it overlapped with my job as a voice actor. As someone who is also “pursuing a dream,” I was moved many times by the tenacity and passion of the egoists. It made me realize that this strong will is what I am lacking right now. I am truly honored to have been given a role in Blue Lock, which gave me this realization!

I thought he was a cute boy. At the same time, unlike the other members of Blue Lock, I didn’t see much of a strong passion for soccer… in fact, I felt like he was taking a step back, like there was a wall between him and the others… That’s the feeling I got. I want to carefully express that “distance from soccer” with great care. I’ll do my best to hang on so I don’t get left behind by Yo Hiori and the other characters! I’m feeling nervous and excited!

Eiji Mikami

I originally watched the first season of the TV anime, and felt that it was a work that was very full of humanity. Each character encounters soccer in a different environment, works hard, and sometimes their efforts are rewarded and sometimes they are shattered… My impression is that the work depicts this at times passionately, and at other times cruelly.

Nanase Nijiro gives off an honest and bright impression!
He speaks in dialect and I think he’s a little cute. I think his emotions and thoughts often show on his facial expressions. (laughs)
I want to portray those aspects of Nijiro honestly. I’ll do my best to live every moment with Nijiro!

Kakeru Hatano
