It is also revealed that the new ending song of this series “Hebi” (Snake) will also performed by Yorushika. The comment has arrived from Yorushika for their new ending song:
One day, I saw the scales of a snake, and they were so beautiful that I started writing a song themed around snakes. While working on it, I suddenly felt a connection to Chi.
In the Bible, the famous imagery of humans eating the fruit of knowledge and the snake that tempted them can be interpreted as a simple metaphor for the desire for knowledge. From that idea, I wrote a song about a snake waking from its slumber in spring, crawling out into the world, and coming to know it.
This song also draws inspiration from a line in a poem by the Tang dynasty poet Yuan Zhen, from Lí Sī (Regret for Separation):
曾经沧海难为水
除却巫山不是云Roughly translated, it means, ‘After seeing the vast ocean, no other body of water will satisfy. After seeing the clouds over Mount Wu, no other clouds will compare.’ Both the ocean and the clouds of Mount Wu are metaphors Yuan Zhen used for his late wife. It is a simple yet deeply profound love poem.
