After the release of the movie Mononoke Movie: Karakasa, the official staff of this anime has announced the name and key visual of the second movie in this Mononoke trilogy. The second movie’s title is “Mononoke Movie: Dai ni Shou – Hinezumi” (English Name: Mononoke the Movie: Chapter II – Fire Rat). The official X account of this movie released the key visual for this second film:

On The Occasion Of The 15th Anniversary, It Was Announced That The Movie Project Will Have Three Films and Hinezumi is going to be the second movie of this trilogy.

About Mononoke

Mononoke is a Japanese anime series produced by Toei Animation. This anime was the spin-off of 2006’s horror anthology series titled Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales. Kenji Nakamura directed this series.

This series later received an anime film titled Mononoke Movie: Karakasa which was released on 26 July 2024. This movie was the first movie from the trilogy which was announced on The Occasion Of The 15th Anniversary. The second movie of this trilogy is titled Mononoke Movie: Dai ni Shou – Hinezumi (English Name: Mononoke the Movie: Chapter II – Fire Rat) and is set to release on 14 March 2025.

In feudal Japan, evil spirits known as mononoke plague both households and the countryside. Only one person has the power to kill them where they stand: the Medicine Seller. Armed with sharp wit, he wanders from place to place striking down the evil spirits in his wake.
