Mashle: Magic and Muscles is officially getting a live-action movie adaptation, with Warner Bros. teaming up with Japanese production company CREDEUS for the upcoming film. The movie is scheduled to premiere in Japanese cinemas on March 19, 2027, with a special teaser visual featuring protagonist Mash Burnedead revealed alongside the announcement.
The teaser deliberately keeps the actor playing Mash hidden, showing only his back as he stands in the darkness wearing the robes of a prestigious magic academy. However, there is one detail that immediately gives away what makes Mash different from everyone else: instead of holding a magic wand, he is carrying a dumbbell.
The actor who will portray Mash Burnedead is scheduled to be officially revealed on November 5, 2026.

Mashle Live-Action Movie Brings Magic vs. Muscles to the Big Screen
The upcoming live-action adaptation is based on the popular manga Mashle: Magic and Muscles by Hajime Komoto, which was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from January 2020 to July 2023.
The story takes place in a world where magic is used for practically everything, and a person’s magical abilities determine their position in society.
However, Mash Burnedead is completely incapable of using magic.
Instead of relying on spells, Mash has spent his days building extraordinary physical strength through intense training. When his peaceful life is threatened, he sets out to become a Divine Visionary, the highest position a magician can achieve, in order to protect his adoptive father.
The series is known for its unusual combination of fantasy battles, comedy, and over-the-top physical strength, with Mash regularly solving magical problems using nothing but his muscles.
The live-action adaptation will bring this unusual concept to the big screen, with the newly released teaser visual already highlighting the contrast between the magical world and Mash’s unconventional abilities.
Warner Bros. Teams Up With CREDEUS for Mashle Live-Action Movie
Warner Bros. is producing the upcoming movie, while Japanese production company CREDEUS is handling production.
CREDEUS is known for working on several large-scale Japanese live-action productions, including the Kingdom film franchise, SAKAMOTO DAYS, and Kokuho, which became Japan’s highest-grossing live-action domestic film.
The production collaboration brings together Warner Bros., known for major fantasy and entertainment franchises, and a Japanese production company with experience adapting popular manga into live-action films.
Further details about the film’s director, supporting cast, and production staff have not yet been announced.

The anime’s first season premiered in April 2023, followed by its second season in January 2024.
The second season received considerable international attention, particularly through its opening theme, “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” by Creepy Nuts, which became a major global hit.
