Crunchyroll has officially launched its localized service in Taiwan, marking another major step in the anime streaming platform’s expansion across Asia.
The company has also launched official Crunchyroll Taiwan social media accounts, including a dedicated Instagram page, signaling the start of its localized presence in the region after previously announcing its expansion plans earlier this year.
Crunchyroll Taiwan Goes Live
As part of the launch, Crunchyroll introduced its official Taiwan branding alongside the slogan encouraging fans to “explore a whole new world” through anime.
The newly launched Crunchyroll Taiwan Instagram account states that it will offer new anime, classic titles, and exclusive content tailored for Taiwanese fans.
The launch follows Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini’s announcement in June that Taiwan would receive a fully localized version of the streaming service during the summer, with South Korea scheduled to follow later in 2026.

Taiwan is the latest market in Crunchyroll’s ongoing expansion strategy across Asia.
Over the past few years, the company has steadily increased its regional presence by introducing localized interfaces, subtitles, dubbed anime, and community-focused initiatives.
The rollout has progressed as follows:
- India — Winter 2023
- Thailand — Early 2026
- Taiwan — Summer 2026
- South Korea — Planned for later in 2026
Crunchyroll has previously credited localization for significantly boosting engagement in newer markets.
According to the company, watch time in India increased by 3.5× after localization efforts, while viewership in Thailand reportedly grew fourfold following its localized launch.
Taiwan has long been one of Asia’s strongest anime markets, but the official localized launch gives Crunchyroll a much stronger presence through dedicated regional branding, marketing, and localized services.
While the company has not announced every feature available at launch, Taiwanese viewers are expected to receive access to a large portion of Crunchyroll’s catalog, including simulcast titles, alongside localized platform support.
With Taiwan now online and South Korea next in line, Crunchyroll continues to strengthen its position across Asia as demand for anime continues to grow worldwide.
