The previously announced next-generation flagship title from Weekly Shonen Jump, “Kagurabachi” (Original Author: Takeru Hokazono) has officially revealed the character visual and trailer for the main character of the series, Chihiro Rokuhira voiced by Taihi Kimura. The official YouTube channel of SHOCHIKU anime has released its new trailer and the character visual has been uploaded to its official website:

This trailer and visual gives the introduction about the main character:
“A quiet boy who sets out on a journey to avenge his father, who was killed by the Hishaku, and to
recover the six stolen Enchanted Blades. With the remaining seventh Enchanted Blade in hand, he
walks a blood-soaked path.“

In the newly released character trailer, the protagonist, Chihiro Rokuhira, emerges with a piercing
gaze that seems to shoot right through the viewer. “I can’t allow slime like you to wield katana.” — These words
harbor his unwavering conviction and his resolve to bear the weight of it all. Clad in a jet-black coat and accompanied by the black goldfish, his figure exudes a quiet yet overwhelming presence, foreshadowing the epic battles that are about to unfold.
As previously announced, Kagurabachi will do its Global Premiere Screenings at four major anime conventions around the world starting July 3, 2026.

It is revealed that the Rising star Taihi Kimura, winner of the 2025 Seiyu Awards for Best New Actor, has been cast as the story’s protagonist, Chihiro Rokuhira.
Animation Studio Cypic (Formerly CygamesPictures and known for Uma Musume Cinderella Gray, The Summer Hikaru Died) will be animating this anime adaptation. This anime series is scheduled to begin broadcasting and streaming in April 2027 in partnership with MUSE, and SMG HOLDINGS, among others. Bookmark Otaku Mantra for more updates!
About Kagurabachi
Kagurabachi is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Takeru Hokazono. It is serialized in September 2023 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. As of May 2026, this manga has a total of 11 Volumes. By April 2026, the manga had over 4 million copies in circulation. In 2024, the series won the 10th Next Manga Award in the print category.
This manga is recieving an anime adaptaion by Studio Cypic (Formerly CygamesPictures). This anime adaptation is set to release in April 2027. Tetsuya Takeuchi is directing this anime with the character designs by Keigo Sasaki.
