Tokai TV describes the plot of this drama:
“Do not question the past. Do not ask about the future.”
Toki reaches out his hand, and Hikaru touches it. Then Toki’s eyes shine gold, and he time-slips into the photograph—
In Tokyo stands a retro-style photo studio called “Shiguang Photo Studio.” Toki (Taiki Sato), a photographer, takes the pictures, while Hikaru (Kanata Hongo) supports him as a co-owner. On this day as well, the studio is filled with smiles as a family comes in to take commemorative photos. However, this photo studio has another side…
That is, its role as a “problem-solving service” that helps people carrying regret. Toki has the ability to possess the photographer and time-slip. Hikaru has the ability to perceive what happened at the moment the photo was taken. Together as a duo, they can “dive” into photographs, meaning they can travel into the past.
Various requests are brought to Toki and Hikaru by people who have heard the rumors. The rule the two have set is this: “The past must not be altered.” However, what Toki witnesses after diving into the past are the clients’ loss and regret. Faced with anger and sorrow that have nowhere to go, Toki often acts on emotion. In contrast, Hikaru calmly guides him, saying, “Our job is to uncover the truth of the past.”
“Toki, Hikaru! There’s work to do!” Lin (Meru Nukumi), the daughter of the landlord of Shiguang Photo Studio and Toki’s childhood friend. With her lively and meddlesome personality, she acts as a point of contact for Toki and Hikaru, bringing them clients with various troubles.
Yoshimoto (Shunsuke Kazama), a detective who casually drops by the photo studio. At first glance, he seems unmotivated, but to the two, he is a reliable older-brother figure. He continues to search for the whereabouts of Toki’s mother, Kasumi (Noriko Nakagoshi), who disappeared in the past, and always looks out for Toki and Hikaru.
To open up the future of their clients, Toki and Hikaru team up and “dive.” A new kind of human drama woven through “photographs,” Link Click. This spring, will you entrust Toki and Hikaru with opening a new future?
