The trailer and key visual were released by the previously announced anime adaptation of the manga “The Summer Hikaru Died” (Japanese Name: Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu). It is also revealed that this anime will be streaming worldwide exclusively on Netflix. The official X account and YouTube channel of Netflix released this anime’s key visual and trailer:

About The Summer Hikaru Died

The Summer Hikaru Died (Japanese Name: Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu) is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Mokumokuren. It was serialized in August 2021 on Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace Up website. Mokumokuren first thought of this series while studying for exams and later began posting drawings of this series on Twitter. From there, the editorial department of Young Ace Up approached Mokumokuren to serialize the manga via the Young Ace Up website. There are a total of 4 Volumes of this series as of December 2023.

This manga is getting an anime adaptation by CygamesPictures which is set to release in the Summer 2025 .

Yen Press licensed this manga in English and describes its plot as:

“Hikaru’s” sudden disappearance from the mountain has not gone unnoticed…and his presence in town has begun to raise suspicions as well.
