The Japanese version of Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially revealed its theme song artist. Popular Japanese band Mrs. GREEN APPLE will perform the film’s Japanese theme song, titled “Brand New.”
The newly written song will play during the ending credits of the Japanese dubbed version of the movie.
Alongside the announcement, Sony Pictures also released a special promotional video featuring the band alongside members of Marvel Studios and the film’s production team.
Before producing the song, Mrs. GREEN APPLE traveled to Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles in February 2026, where they met with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal, and Marvel Studios Music Supervisor Dave Jordan.
During the meeting, the band was given confidential information about the upcoming film and discussed the creative direction for the Japanese theme song directly with the production team.
In the announcement video, Kevin Feige praised the band, saying:
“They are my favorite band. We had long conversations in both Los Angeles and Tokyo, and I could really feel their love and passion for Spider-Man. I’m truly honored by the feelings they’ve poured into this new song.”
The video also features a video call between the members of Mrs. GREEN APPLE and Spider-Man: Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton.
According to the announcement, “Brand New” was written to reflect Peter Parker’s emotions as he continues protecting New York as its “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man,” carrying the determination to fight for the people he loves despite standing alone.
Songwriter and vocalist Motoki Omori shared his excitement about contributing to the film.
“As a movie fan and an MCU fan, I wanted to participate in a way that truly conveys the meaning and love behind having a Japanese theme song. Spider-Man has been one of my favorite heroes since I was a child, so being involved in this project fills me with happiness.
Kevin, Amy, director Destin, and music supervisor Dave all shared what they wanted to express through this film, and I created this song with as much love as I possibly could.
I don’t need to tell everyone to look forward to this movie because I know many of you already are—but all I can say is that this film is incredible. We can’t wait to watch it in theaters ourselves.”
The full version of “Brand New” will be released at a later date.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to open in theaters in Japan and the United States simultaneously on July 31, 2026. The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker alongside Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo.
The story takes place four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, following Peter Parker as he continues protecting New York in secret while mysterious crimes begin occurring across the city and his spider abilities start showing signs of evolving.
