On 5 January 2024, the official X account of the TV anime “Overlord” which is based on the original light novel by Maruyama Kugane and so-bin revealed that the upcoming 3rd Overlord film “Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom” (Japanese Name: Overlord Movie 3: Sei Oukoku-hen, Synonym: Overlord Movie 3: The Sacred Kingdom, Overlord the Movie Holy Kingdom Arc) is set to release in Japan on 2024. They also released the official trailer for this upcoming film.

It is also revealed that Director Itou Naoyuki will return to direct this movie at Animation Studio Madhouse.

All voice actors and Staff members (some staff changes can occur in the future maybe) are returning for this movie. Studio Madhouse who animated previous movies and seasons will also animate this 3rd movie of the Overlord Series.
Overlord is a Japanese light novel series written by Maruyama Kugane and illustrated by so-bin. It began serialized online in 2010 and after that, this light novel was acquired by Kadokawa’s Enterbrain. Since July 2012, they published 16 Volumes of this Light Novel series.
This Light Novel later got a manga adaptation by Satoshi Oshio with art by Hugin Miyama. This manga was serialized on November 26, 2014, in Kadokawa’s Shoten Magazine Comp Ace. This Novel later got an anime adaptation by Studio Madhouse which consists of 4 Anime Seasons and 2 Movies. Overlord Movie 3 has been announced for 2024.
Both manga and Light Novels were licensed in English by Yen Press and they describe this series as:
