It is revealed that the manga “YAIBA” by Detective Conan’s Author Gosho Aoyama will be getting a remake anime series. The announcement Visual drawn by Gosho Aoyama is released and Weekly Shounen Sunday TV’s YouTube channel released the Announcement trailer of this upcoming remake series:

In the visual, we can see Yaiba holding the Thunder God Sword. It is revealed that this remake anime series of “Yaiba” will be the complete adaptation series supervised by author Gosho Aoyama. Gosho Aoyama commented about this upcoming Yaiba anime:

About YAIBA

YAIBA (also written as Y∀IBA) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gosho Aoyama. It was serialized in 1988 in Shogakukan’s Shounen manga magazine Weekly Shounen Sunday. There are a total of 24 volumes in this manga. This manga received the 38th Shogakukan Manga Award for the shounen category in 1993.

This manga later got a 52-episode anime adaptation titled Kenyu Densetsu Yaiba () which released on April 1993. A new remake anime adaptation has been announced.

Shogakukan describes the plot of this anime as:

The protagonist, Kurogane Yaiba, is a samurai wild child who trains in the jungle with his father, Kenjurou. By a twist of fate, the determined samurai, Yaiba, returns to Japan and encounters his rival, Onimaru Takeshi. Yaiba, who lives for serious battles, embarks on a spectacular adventure when Onimaru obtains the “Legendary Demon Sword!”
