It is revealed that the popular anime film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Part 1: Akaza Returns (Japanese Title: Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie 1: Mugenjou-hen – Akaza Sairai) is getting a ScreenX and Ultra4DX release in Japan starting February 20, 2026. The official YouTube channel of Aniplex revealed the screening announcement trailer:
The ScreenX is a three-screen multi-projection technology which also projects a movie to both sides (or walls) of a cinema hall. This technology allows a full 270-degree field of view for the audience, creating a truly immersive experience.
Depending on the scene, images are projected only onto the front, while others are projected onto both sides.
The screen extending to the left and right adds further dynamics and realism to the movie scenes,
maximizing the potential of the film itself.
The Ultra 4DX uses the same three-screen multi-projection technology but with 4dx experience.
This movie is currently the second-highest-grossing film in Japan as of January 31, having earned over ¥39.1 billion. The only film ahead of it is from the same franchise, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, which remains Japan’s highest-grossing movie of all time.
Produced by ufotable, the film continues the studio’s legacy of breathtaking animation quality. It marks the first part of the trilogy that adapts the Infinity Castle Arc, the final and most intense storyline from Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga.
The theme songs featured in this movie— LiSA performs “Zankoku na Yoru ni Kagayake” (Shine in the Cruel Night), while Aimer delivers “Taiyou ga Noboranai Sekai” (A World Where the Sun Never Rises).
