“Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories” is the 6-minute anime short series which shows horror stories based on urban legends of japan in a modern day setting. The shorts are inspired from Showa-era illustrated paper theater (kamishibai) productions.
The first season of this short anime was released in July 2013, and the most current season 11th July, 2023. The Season 12 of this series is set to premire in January 2024. Crunchyroll streamed all the seasons of this anime worldwide as they aired.
This series later got a live-action adaptation which premiered in Japan in September 2020.
