Date A Live is officially concluding its anime adaptation with a theatrical movie instead of another TV season. Titled Date A Live F: Last Date, the final installment will premiere in Japanese theaters on March 26, 2027, with a new teaser trailer and second teaser visual revealed alongside the release date.
The announcement was made on October 25, 2026, during the Fantasia Bunko Daikanshasai 2026 Online event. The upcoming film will bring the long-running anime adaptation to its conclusion, following five TV anime seasons and years of stories revolving around Shido Itsuka and the Spirits:

The newly released promotional tagline reads, “Now then, let’s begin our final war (date).”
Date A Live F: Last Date Movie Sets March 2027 Release
The official website confirmed that Date A Live F: Last Date will begin theatrical screenings in Japan on March 26, 2027.
The project was initially announced in April 2026, but its format had not been confirmed at the time. The latest announcement establishes that the final chapter will arrive as a movie rather than a sixth TV anime season.
The second teaser visual features Inverse Tohka, standing before shattered stained glass in a darker and more ominous setting than the first teaser visual, which depicted Tohka wearing a wedding dress.
The newly released teaser trailer also introduces fresh footage from the final installment, building anticipation for the conclusion of Shido’s story.
Date A Live Anime Will Conclude With Its Final Chapter
The upcoming movie will bring the main Date A Live anime storyline to its final stage.
The franchise follows Shido Itsuka, an ordinary high school student who discovers that he can seal the powers of Spirits by making them fall in love with him and kissing them.
Shido becomes involved in the conflict surrounding these mysterious girls, whose appearances can trigger devastating spatial quakes. Rather than defeating them through conventional combat, he attempts to resolve the threat by forming emotional connections with them.
Over the course of the series, Shido has encountered numerous Spirits, uncovered secrets surrounding the world’s history and confronted increasingly dangerous threats.
The official story description for Date A Live F: Last Date highlights the unresolved mysteries surrounding the spatial quakes, the neighboring world, DEM, Shinji Takamiya, Shido Itsuka and the Spirits. The final battle will bring these developments toward their conclusion.
The movie is therefore positioned as the concluding chapter of the main anime adaptation, although the announcement does not suggest that every future project connected to the broader franchise is necessarily ending.
