The Spring 2026 anime season has officially come to an end, bringing with it a diverse lineup of action, fantasy, drama, and slice-of-life series. From highly anticipated manga adaptations to returning fan-favorite franchises, the season offered something for every anime fan.
To find out which anime left the biggest impression, Anime! Anime!, one of Japan’s leading anime news websites, conducted a reader survey titled “Which Was the Best Spring 2026 Anime?“
The survey was conducted from June 15 to June 22, 2026, and approximately 55% of participants were male and 45% were female. The survey also received votes from a wide range of age groups, with many respondents in their 30s and 50s.

According to the survey, manga adaptations dominated the Spring 2026 season, with the top three positions all occupied by anime based on manga series. Interestingly, each title originated from a different publisher: Nippon Sangoku from Shogakukan, Daemons of the Shadow Realm from Square Enix, and Akane-banashi from Shueisha.
The variety of genres represented across the rankings also highlights how diverse the Spring 2026 anime season was, ranging from historical war dramas and fantasy adventures to rakugo-focused coming-of-age stories and returning blockbuster sequels.
