Japan’s major karaoke service JOYSOUND has officially announced the 2025 Annual Karaoke Rankings based on total singing counts nationwide.
Among the various categories, the Anime/Game category ranking for 2025 release songs highlights the titles that were most performed in karaoke rooms throughout Japan this year, revealing the strong cultural influence of anime music across all age groups.
The top position in the Anime/Game ranking was secured by Sakanaction’s “Kaijuu,” the opening theme of the TV anime “Chi.: Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite” (English Name: Orb: On The Movements Of Earth). This marks the band’s first anime theme song, which has become widely appreciated for its emotional composition and its strong alignment with the series’ narrative tone.
Following closely, “Kusushiki” by Mrs. GREEN APPLE ranked second, representing “The Apothecary Diaries” (Japanese Name: Kusuriya no Hitorigoto). Maomao’s continued popularity is reflected in the list, with another track from the series, “Hyakka Ryouran” by Lilas Ikuta, ranking eighth.
Kenshi Yonezu appeared three times within the Top 10, further solidifying his influence over anime music this year. His songs include Plazma(Mobile Suit Gundam GQUuuuuuuX), Bow And Arrow(Medalist), Iris Out (Chainsaw Man The Movie – Reze Arc).
