On 4 December 2023, the official X account of “Rascal Does Not Dream” series revelead that this franchise is getting a sequal named “College arc” which is based on the Light novel of the same name.

The official X account for “Rascal Does Not Dream” anime shared the official announcement visual for upcoming College arc featuring Mai Sakurajima as college student:
This series will be the direct sequal of previously released movie “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid“. Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid officially concludes High-school tales of “Rascal Does Not Dream” series and this College arc will cover whole College / University stories of this series.

On December 24th, a Christmas Eve stage greeting will be held at Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo. Kaito Ishikawa, who plays Sakuta Azusakawa, the original author Kamoshida, director Soichi Masui, and MC Mukai Amatsu are scheduled to be on stage.
Yen Press describes this College arc’s plot as:
“Becoming a college student means starting a whole new life…right? Sakuta honestly isn’t sure. Some things have changed, but some things are still the same. His reputation definitely precedes him just like before. Of course, it’s because the entire school knows he’s dating Mai, who’s as busy as ever with her acting career. Sakuta also still lives in Fujisawa with Kaede, but now his sister regularly attends school remotely and splits her time between the apartment and their parents’ home. And Sweet Bullet is giving it their all to reach stardom together, just like always. Except Uzuki’s been acting a little funny, and maybe, just maybe, Adolescence Syndrome might be the culprit again…“
Rascal Does Not Dream, also known as Seishun Buta Yaro or AoButa is a Japanese light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Kēji Mizoguchi. Since April 2014, ASCII Media Works have published 13 volumes under their Dengeki Bunko imprint. Since April 2020, Yen Press has been publishing the English version of this light novel.
This LN later got a manga adaptation with art by Tsugumi Nanamiya which has been serialized in ASCII Media Works’ seinen manga magazine named Dengeki G’s Comic since December 2015.
It also recieved the anime adaptation by Studio Cloverworks which covered whole highschool saga in their series and movies titled. Rascal does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai was the first adaptation series of this LN which later got 3 sequal movies titled Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai: the Movie, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid which covered whole highschool saga from the Lightnovel. The college arc of this light novel is announced in December 2023.
