Chinese Studio Working On The One Piece Remake Shared BTS Work Featuring Designs Of Buggy And Cabaji

One Chinese studio, which seems to be working on a remake of the popular shounen manga One Piece titled “The One Piece“, has shared its behind-the-scenes work on the anime. Apparently, Japanese studios outsource some animation projects to studios located in South Korea and China, and this studio was one of them.

China’s government-backed media reveals that a local studio collaborated with WIT Studio on the One Piece remake video on Weibo, where we can spot the official character designs for Buggy and Cabaji from the Orange Town Arc.

The fans in social media are praising these new designs by Wit Studio. Fans are also speculating that if this production video is recent, then it may take another year for release. It is also possible that Netflix can share new information related to The One Piece during Anime Japan 2026 or Netflix’s Tudum.

About One Piece

One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It was serialized in July 1998 in Shuiesha’s Weekly Shounen Jump and is still ongoing. As of July 2024, this manga has a total of 109 Volumes. This manga later received an anime adaptation by Toei Animation in 1999 and it’s still ongoing. The anime remake from East Blue Saga is announced by Netflix and it is revealed that Wit Studio will animate this remake.
