Just In from Jump Festa 2026, it is revealed that the popular Jump manga Blue Box (Japanese Name: Ao No Hako) is coming to its end. Mangaka Miura Kouji revealed this information.
During Ao no Hako’s stage, mangaka Miura Kouji sent a message to all the fans. In the letter, Miura expressed gratitude for the strong response to the series, including its anime adaptation, and hinted that the story is approaching its finale.
“The serialization is nearing its fifth anniversary, and the conclusion is also getting closer. Probably,” the message read, carefully choosing words while clearly signaling the endgame.
Miura went on to state that their responsibility as a creator remains unchanged.
“What I can do is take responsibility for what gets published and sincerely face each week with the goal of making the manga more interesting.”
The letter concluded with a promise to stay committed until the very end.
“I vow to keep writing with that mindset until the series is complete, so I would be happy if you continue reading Ao no Hako until the end.”

About Blue Box
Blue Box (Japanese name: Ao no Hako) is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Kouji Miura. Since April 2021, It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump. On August 3, 2020, the first one-shot of Blue Box was released in Weekly Shonen Jump. This manga’s first Volume was released on August 4, 2021. As of October 2023, there are 12 Volumes of this manga series are published.
Blue Box has been licensed in North America for simultaneous publication as it is digitally launched by Viz Media on its Shonen Jump website and in Japan. Shueisha also publishes this series in English for free on the Manga Plus app and website. Viz Media announced that they had licensed the series in print format in February 2022. The first English volume was released on November 1, 2022.
This manga later received an anime adaptation by Telecom Animation Film which was released in October 2024. The season 2 of this anime is officially announced.
